At Apogee Mississauga, children engage in a dynamic, multi-age studio environment where collaboration is key to their learning journey. Our flexible, learner-centered approach fosters growth through personalized learning plans, hands-on projects, and real-world experiences that inspire curiosity and independence. Each day in our studios blends creativity with structure: learners are given large blocks of time for both work and play, guided by broad yet clear boundaries. This approach empowers students to manage their time, set goals, and track their progress, earning increasing freedoms and responsibilities as they demonstrate readiness.
Mornings focus on core skills, while afternoons are dedicated to hands-on projects. Learners select from a variety of options, based on their individual goals, passions, and commitments. Our day begins with a Socratic Discussion that encourages thoughtful reflection and dialogue, followed by intentional physical fitness to energize both body and mind. After this, students enter a two-hour, uninterrupted work cycle where they engage with core academic subjects—reading, writing, math, etc—using the latest technology and resources at their own pace.
After core skills work, learners enjoy an hour of free time before reconvening for their “Quest” meeting at 1:00 p.m. Quests are project-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore passion-driven projects requiring critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration to solve. The day concludes with a closing meeting where students reflect on their goals, discuss their progress, and celebrate achievements with character callouts.
At Apogee Mississauga, the studios are largely student-led, with a strong sense of community built on mutual respect and clear expectations. At the start of each year, our young heros create and sign a Contract of Promises that outlines behavioral expectations, responsibilities, and consequences for not upholding community norms. This contract reinforces a commitment to participating fully in the community, valuing their education, and using the studio space responsibly.
Primary Studio
"Spark" — Ages 4-6
At Apogee Mississauga, we believe young children are capable of learning necessary skills like reading and mathematical reasoning at their own pace and in their own way. We create an environment in which children are free to explore and play, allowing their own curiosity to be the spark that ignites learning. Along the way, they also develop vital character traits and social skills like kindness, empathy, honesty, critical thinking, the satisfaction of performing hard work, responsibility, and joy in learning. Inspired by Montessori principles and Socratic teaching methods, our Spark Studio is a holistic environment that aims to stimulate children's minds, spirits, and bodies as they figure out the world around them and their place in it.

At Apogee Mississauga, we believe that learning to do, learning to be, and learning to learn are more important than memorization alone – learning to know.
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to
have tried to succeed.”
